Games and Education

Well the debate is in full on force with experts in psychology and education. The question being: are our children wasting their brains playing video games, or are they actually learning something while playing them?

It is obvious that the computer gaming world has grown in hyper drive proportions with the merging of the internet and video games. It is now the online gaming world that we usually talk about when talking about gaming.

There are so  many games available today, and they are not only the Sony Play Station or Xbox games. Video games can be played on any computer system, and came producers and designers are coming up with new and popular games every month. Some game releases are almost as big as movie releases.

So parents in the U.S. in general are concerned about their children and possible issues such as game addiction, and other possible side effects that may come about from prolonged game playing. We always fear an unknown danger.

Sure games can be addictive, but they can also be educational. There are many different life skills that can be practiced while playing video games. The ones that come to ind are decision making skills, as well as strategy skills.
