My brother in law made a super, SUPER fast computer for a very low price. We’ll go over it in the price breakdown in the end. I mean this thing is so fast. He tried to over clock the processor and the RAM by opening up 3 music playing programs, two browsers, a DVD player, and a game AT THE SAME TIME, and he didn’t even begin to push the unit.

All he did was buy the specific components I’ll talk about here and put them together.
You are going to love how easy this is to do too. I think most computer manufacturers would be really upset if everyone started just buying their own components and building their own computers. In truth though, there are too many people out there who would rather pay for the entire computer already built. But the money savings are serious, AND you won’t have to sacrifice for quality unless you really want to! So let’s get started!

The Processor or CPU

The first thing to get a hold of is the CPU. This is the most important of all the components. Usually there are two main CPU fabricators that make the processors for most of the computers of the world; Intel, and AMD.
Many people have discovered the great compatibility and low prices offered by AMD in their processors.
They just recently released their Phenom II 6X core microprocessor, and it is insanely fast. They have many different speeds of this model.  The one we are looking at is a 2.8 GHz processor, but keep in mind that the speed rating is per processor core.

Therefore it is 2.8 GHz time 6! That is a cumulative speed of 16.8 GHz! Crazy!
Here is the product below, and it’s only going to cost you $169.00:

The AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz 6 x Microprocessor

The value you will get for the money beats Pentium hands down. Go ahead a do a price comparison with their comparable CPU, your jaw will drop. The Intel Pentium Core i7-990x Extreme Edition for example costs $999!! On the other hand, AMD’s Phenom II 6x competitor is a little over $200!! Someone should tell Intel they are a bit overpriced.

The Motherboard

There are many motherboard manufacturers in the marketplace, and ASUS is one of the top makers. This one is pretty easy to figure out since you need a MB that supports the new Phenom II. The key aspect is that it has an AM3 socket which fits the Phenom II. This one also has many other great perks to further optimize your computer. This specific motherboard will cost $139.99.

Here’s the link for the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO Motherboard.

The Video Card

As we work out from the center of your system, next in line is the video card. I recommend the trusted brands. One of those trusted brands is EVGA. They have some new ones out now, but their previous models won’t cost you $400. There are many great brands, and I recommend buying one that is in the $120 to $140 range.

I recommend the EVGA 01G-P3-1556-KR GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) FPB 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card.
The GTX 550 uses the new “tessellation” technology developed by the chip maker NVIDIA. This one clocks at 951 MHz and is probably the best bang for your buck.

It’s amazing how these video cards can cost over $900, but at $127.99 after rebate, this one will work for our purposes. Click on the link or image below to learn more about the video card and click here to learn more about tessellation and NVIDIA’s GPU architecture.

RAM Memory

I totally recommend that you load up your gaming PC with 8 Gb’s of at least DDR3 RAM memory. You can also go to 4 gigs, and still have a great gaming computer, but 8 would be optimal.
Here’s a deal on G Skill Ram 240-pin PCI  DDR3 memory. You’ll pay only $74.99 for 8 gigabytes of RAM.

The Hard Drive

These days, storage has gotten so inexpensive. You can pick up a 1 terabyte hard drive for under $100. That’s 1,000 gigabytes!! It’s great for movies. But I do not recommend that you buy a terabyte for your machine.A hard drive that large may wear out faster if it is under constant use, especially if it is a fast rpm HD.

That’s why I recommend you get half of a terabyte hard drive that can run at 7200 RPM’s. Western Digital has been making hard drives since the early 1990’s, and they still make great stuff.

Pick up the Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5″ Internal Hard Drive  below for only $59.99. Make sure it is SATA and that it is rated at 7200 rpm’s.

If you want more space, simply pick up an external hard drive with a terabyte capacity later on.

The Media Drive

We are trying to keep your costs as low as possible. That’s why we recommend you not get the Blu-ray drive combo, unless you can afford it and you really want it.
Instead, I recommend this DVD multi-recorder drive from Lite-on. It supports all DVD formats and has 24X ultra fast writing speed on DVD+R mode. Other modes and their corresponding speeds are 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM.
The best part about the drive….only $20. Click below to pick it up or find out more.

Now for the “Other” Stuff

At this point, the items above are the most important components of your super cheap super fast gaming system. What is necessary at this point is to install your system within a case, add a power source to it, make sure it is adequately cooled, and add on the remaining accessories such as the keyboard, mouse, web cam, and the gaming monitor.
